KPC Respite Center

KPC Respite Center and Nursery offers respite care for children in Colorado Springs. Temporary crisis and planned childcare for infants and young children at no cost to parents or guardians. This program has been open to families since 2004 and has provided hundreds of families with relief and support.

Being a parent is one of the toughest jobs you will ever have. We want you to know that you are not alone in stressful times. KPC Respite Center is available to give you a break when you need it most; if you are struggling to make critical appointments or need care for your child when there is no other safe choice.

KPC provides peace of mind when your child cannot be with you. Your child is cared for at the KPC Respite Center by qualified professionals and volunteers. Our staff and volunteers provide a safe, nurturing and child friendly environment.

Types of care available:

  • Respite care is provided for any parent/guardian who needs a break from parenting.
  • Crisis prevention care is provided for appointments that are critical to the health and stability of the family, such as appointments for mental or medical health issues, housing, employment or family counseling.
  • Crisis care is provided when a child cannot or should not be with their parent or guardian.  This may include emergency hospitalization, violence in the home or reaching the end of your rope.  There is a 24 hour phone line available and, in the event of a crisis, care can be provided for up to 72 hours.

In addition to immediate relief, family support and guidance to other community resources are offered to all caregivers who use KPC Respite Center.  Services are provided in a non-judgmental and confidential manner.
